About Me

"I'm thrilled that your festival has returned! The Hardacre Film Festival was the very first festival to ever show any of my work. Since that time, my documentaries have played numerous film festivals and have had many screenings at theatres across the US and Europe. However, none have had the hospitality and the excitement of Hardacre; to this day, both my crew and I agree that it is our favorite film festival."

Get ready for the 10th installment of the festival on Saturday, August 4th in historic downtown Tipton, Iowa. It'll be one helluva day - one inspiring, enthralling, heart-pounding, tear-inducing, side-splitting, thought-provoking, knee-slapping helluva day.Whether you submit a film, come to a screening, or just support what we're doing, we applaud you. There's just nothing like creating and sharing visual motion art with other filmmakers and the viewing public in a quaint small-town nestled in America's heartland.Visit www.hardacrefilmfestival.com for more information and to submit a film or contact Festival Director Travis Binkley Alden at [email protected] for more info.

My Interests

Filmmaking (and the digital revolution of), community development, creativity, aesthetics, storytelling. Bringing diverse groups of people together to share in a common interest.

I'd like to meet:

1. Filmmakers from every aspect of the discipline.2. Cinephiles who love to discover new, indie work.3. People from the Tipton, Iowa community who want to get involved and support this unique, worthwhile initiative.

Music:

ENDER, an up-and-coming indie rock band from SW Michigan. They have a myspace at "endermi". They might come play a show at this year's film festival.

Movies:

Anything that's submitted! Festival Director's personal highlights: Run Lola Run; The Graduate; Suture; 12 Monkeys; Primer; Requiem For A Dream; many more...

Television:

Heroes, Lost, Family Guy, CNN Headline News, that's about it.

Books:

The entire "Ender's Game" series by Orson Scott Card, "Galapagos" by Kurt Vonnegut, and, I know it's not very cerebral, the "Area 51" series by Robert Doherty.
