He is currently working with young people on Rap poetry educational projects. Themes include respect of self and others and an insight to cultural diversity around the world we all share. Dealing with all types of difficult issues he engages the youngsters Giving them the forum to share and discuss views, helping them capture and express their thoughts an imagination in a safe environment all done in a fun way.
The objectives are:To support schools and organizations delivery of poetry from different cultures. Engaging their thinking ability and writing skills. To promote awareness of the contribution of living language to our understanding of our world through social education via rap poetry. To promote the value of communication, social respect and the arts in school.
This is achieved by: Initial planning with both the literacy co-ordinator and year or group leader. Establish what stimulus would be used with young people and organize into ability sets. Donovan and teacher working with young people to produce their own writing or performance.
Follow-up work with the young people and their teacher in literacy time is encouraged So that work can be re-drafted and presented for display. Young people are encouraged to perform their work to adults and young people within the year group.
Evaluations carried out with young people and staff after going through the rap poetry education sessions have proved very positive, with young people showing great enthusiasm and enjoyment in the performance element and gaining an awareness of the richness of language beyond standard English.

D. Bo. Genaral aka Donavan C Brown grew up in Huddersfiled playing his part in a top local sound system, in the 80s and 90s for the great ARMAGIDEON MUZIK. He worked as the talking oppa as technician / mc. Working also as a free lance mc he performed for other local sounds on big dance nights. His lyrical style and delivery was an still is in popular demand by the people and other promoters.
This talented young man is very adaptable and spontaneous when reggae dance hall / ragga musik crossed paths with a new urban UK genre musik called jungle / drum an bass, which was taking the country like an epperdemic of new sounds A long time friend and producer L Dubble of Flex Records contacted D.Bo about doing some work as his mc, this led to a wonderful partnership which L dubz led him to work with two top London DJs / producers Micky Finn and Aphrodite aka Urban Shakedown.
The record they came up with was already smashing up the underground movement on dub plate. The track was taken on by PWL and instantly became a jungle anthem and had a national chart release a video was done to introduce this new urban musik, the track was called Some Justice 95 (the arsonist) which was been played on MTV and various musik channels. D. Bo has toured UK, Europe, and several states in America on his journey through ragga jungle.
Since the late 90s never leaving his roots conscious he has worked with local / international male duo singers known as Harlem Gem. He appeared on their first album on four tracks a powerful contribution to roots musik D. Bos gruff style complimenting the smooth vocals of Richmond and Lloyd Gem.
In 2000 he began work on his own project with a group of top local artist and performed as the SWAT TEAM (Special works and tactics team) with more style and cultural entertainment. In 2002 he began work on his album working with Tony G and Celtic Islam. In between his schedule he has hosted open mic nights at rhythm and Indigos a local venue in HD1 giving young talents to practice and perform their mc skills, whether it be dance hall ragga rap poetry D.Bo. Genaral will always be involved in musik as a performer writer or host and as long as I have known him he has always delivered and never let a prospective client down very reliable.
D. Bos Philosophy
To love God an be a voice for the people bringing equality to them who think they have none and raise awareness because lifes all about fairness, to heal the deaf the dumb the cripple and blind. If we are to heal the world we will take it one step at a time. For the upliftment of people we must dissolve evil, lets give the world a vision of hope, and stop selling them soap where they slide into dope or a tin of cant cope. Education in social equality an global poverty is the key and simple truth and rights will set us free.
