PROGRESS REPORT
How Are We Doing? Update on Five Big Environmental Ideas for
2007
After last November's election, we challenged the new
Congress to take on five big ideas for environmental progress in
2007.
This week marks the first 100 calendar days of the 110th
Congress. We have some developments to report.
After reading our Progress Report, tell us what you think. Vote
for your favorite development .

Big Idea #2
Protecting Endangered Species by Working WITH Farmers and

Big Idea #3
Reward Farmers for Conservation-Friendly Farming

says farmers, ranchers and private landowners deserve more
funding for the work they do to protect the environment. If the
two agricultural bills recently introduced pass through
Congress, we are well on our way to better rewarding our
nation's farmers.

Big Idea #4
Protect Oceans and Fisheries
Our Oceans Director David Festa says we can use
the smart policy options available to us to help rescue and
restore our ocean fisheries. With a big victory in Congress in

Big Idea #5
Protect Gulf Coast Communities AND Wildlife by Restoring
Coastal Wetlands
Signs of spring mean signs of progress for
coastal wetlands restoration, says Senior Policy Analyst Paul

Southeast top the list of accomplishments in Eco
Indiana ’s short history.
E. Co. Indiana’s founder, Kyle Patton O’Donnell, is
an avid environmentalist. His
accomplishments include bicycling all over the world in search of greener
cultures (visit myspace.com/shaggamaru). He continues to travel each year and has covered four of the seven
continents thus far. He is a
