About Me

From the inner-city limits of beautiful Oakland, California, Big Cat Tolefree and his cool Hipnotic Blues Band has single-handedly transformed the West Coast blues and soul sound with his trend-setting music and vocal style. Name drops aren’t needed for the multi award winning, 3rd. generation Russell City blues man. Big Cat has the skills and sex appeal to stand on his own for decades to come. In 2007 Big Cat Tolefree opened shows for The Temptations, Jimmy McCracklin, Pinetop Perkins, Sonny Rhodes, Big-Time Sarrah, Filmore Slim and Bobby Rush. Big Cat has shared his incredible new sound all over, including festivals premier concert venues and larger night clubs coast to coast. He’s earned “New Blues Artist of the Year”, “Male Blues Vocalist of the Year” and Europe’s “Best Traditional Blues Artist” all in one amazing year. Don’t sleep on the West Coast’s new rising star in the blues game, he’s a great guy to work with and a gem when it comes to raw talent. The apple didn’t fall far from his families Russell City Blues Tree. Big Cat Tolefree also acts, produces his own music, writes his own songs and weekly entertainment column for The Globe News Paper, called The Inside Buzz. He is currently the Executive Director for Bay Area Art and Music Foundation in the San Francisco Bay Area. B.A.A.M. Foundation is dedicated to preserving and promoting art and music, in addition to supporting at risk youth after school programs, music in schools and public art projects.
