Ikon Original – Original Footwear for Original People
Official Press Release
From The Jam …to Original Ikon
Bruce Foxton and Original Ikon collaborate…
2007 witnessed a majestic return to the live music arena for Bruce Foxton, with founding member of The Jam Rick Buckler, along with two new faces Russell Hastings and David Moore.
Now going under the name of “From The Jam†and following hot the heels of last year’s UK tour success, the band has kicked off 2008 with a 14 date tour of North America. Next stop for the band is Australia and New Zealand in March.
Original Ikon are pleased to announce a collaboration with Bruce Foxton and are set to release a special edition Bruce Foxton styled shoe this spring…
Bruce has been seen throughout 2007 wearing the distinctive white lace Gibson shoes from Original Ikon and has always taken a keen interest in footwear since his early days in The Jam…White has become his trademark colour and after reaching double figures of this style, Ikon decided it was time to make it his…
The four eyelet Gibson shoe with light punch detail across the vamp and toe is fast becoming a modern classic. The upper is produced from pure white, full grain leather, distinctive black and white checkerboard calf linings, white leather in sock and finished off with contrast black stitch detail. Bruce’s signature is laser etched onto the pure white sole…even the laces are flat cotton and white…
Each pair produced will be numbered in sequence, presented in cloth shoe bags in a luxury shoebox. A photo print of the iconic musician wearing the shoes whilst on tour in 2007 will accompany each pair.
As they say…Mod is in the detail.

British footwear label Ikon has teamed-up with two living music legends, Bruce Foxton and Gary Crowley to produce two new ranges.
The Foxton
The first release is a collaboration with Bruce Foxton who has been wearing Ikon Original Gibson white lace ups on his recent tours with 'From The Jam'. The Foxton version has four eyelets, light punch detail, the upper is made from pure white, full grain leather, there are black and white checkerboard calf linings, a white leather in-sock and contrast black stitch detail. Mr Foxton's signature is laser etched onto the white sole. Each pair is presented in a cloth bag placed in a luxury box and comes with a photo of Bruce wearing his.
The Crowley
Gary Crowley is an iconic muso, DJ and performer (featured on Andy Lewis' album 'You Should Be Hearing Something Now') and proper London geezer. Crowley has a formidable passion for music and it's only right and proper that Ikon should immortalise this man in footwear. Gary apparently met the Ikon MD Pete at a 'From The Jam' gig and after some persuasion, finally agreed to design his personal favourite, the suede desert boot. It meant Gary working with the design team, being involved in every stage of the process, choosing the fabrics, colourways etc. The leather boots come in a choice of dark green, white, chocolate brown.
The Bruce Foxton Gibsons will only be available in strictly limited numbers priced approx £80 from the end of April. Gary's Desert Boots will go on sale for £50.
