About Me

Bolygo Bence is an up and coming musician who lives in Budapest/London. He began studying music at an age of 10 at the Berkshire Young musicians trust, and became and active musician in his early teens as a classically trained cellist. His serious passion and interest for the drums and percussion developed quite late on in his life at the age of 15. In his primary years he was a student of Andy Leask, John Robinson, Joachim Kuhn and then later was developed by Dave Hassell, Berdisz Tamas and Ivan Nestor. To this day Bence is very grateful for each individual teacher showing, helping, and developing the route to his passion of music. Bence studied at the Salford School Of Performing Arts and Music, receiving 1st class Hons. He then went on to study and graduating in 2007 from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest with distinction. He remains an active up and coming session musician now living cross between Budapest and London working with many sought after musicians in and around Europe. Since 2005, his musical taste and heart has geared him to form his own project with his friends from school "The Hun-project". Music is his life, and desires to serve it on the highest level. Musical diversity and individuality is the two fundamental building blocks in his creative thinking. - Overture

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: bolygomusic.com
Band Members: (HUN)-Project: The band is comprises of the finest young jazz musicians from Hungary and Europe. All the musicians have studied at the Liszt Music Academy of Hungary under the Jazz Faculty. The members are some of the most sought after Session musicians in Hungary. The Hun Project have a more profound focus on the bands sound as a whole as opposed to individual virtuosity. This allows the Band to Present Fusion in a new light. The group is very appreciated in and around Hungary with their eclectic, yet easily digestible approach. They are a band highly recommened

Influences: The type of genre that this band represents is jazz-rock/fusion much compared to the likes of Spyro Gyro, tribal tech, and Yellowjackets. The project has its own blend of style however, that is heavy and aggressive in taste, yet melodic and soothing. The Hun-project has already played in the uk with a debut concert at Jabez Clegg, Manchester in May 2005. The band is in the process of organizing its forth coming tour in autumn 2007 in and around London. They shall be holding workshops at local schools and concerts in many major venues. Dates and details of their events shall be shortly announced.
Sounds Like: Vinnie Colaiuta, Stewart Copland, Rosemblatt, Dave Hassell, Nat Townsley, Dave Weckl Band, Sting, Miles Davis, Alan Holdworth, Karizma, European Mantra, Boom Boom, Chick Corea, Pat Metheny, Richard Bona, Tribel Tech, Sypro Gyro, Brad Meldau, The Police, Fusio Quartet, Victor Bailey, EST, Diana Krall, Keith Garrett, and the list goes on......
