Dislikes: Cutlets and peas (my boys know what I mean). Political ads on TV, people who create drama just because they’re bored, people who lack the courage to tell their friends what they need to hear vs telling them what they want to hear, heavy traffic of any kind, spermicidal lubricants, poorly informed reactionary conservatives, poorly informed reactionary liberals, judgmental people, typos, mispellings, Miss Tori Spelling and all her ilk, people who lie to me and think that I'm too blind to notice, people who can’t just shut up and enjoy a few moments of silence, weasel-like opportunists, whiners, muscle-flexing macho types, hot weather, people who lack manners, hypocrites, caviar, people who take themselves so seriously that they can’t laugh or take a joke at their expense and adorable shoes that hurt Asia’s feet. Oh, and Chuck Norris. Fuck Chuck.(Kudos to you if you caught the incorrectly spelt word.)
I'd like to meet:
Alive? Jello Biafra and Henry Rollins.
Dead? Oscar Wilde.
In general:
Interesting, smart people with similar tastes and sensibilities. I enjoy hanging out with artists, techies, nerds or knuckle-dragging brutes who conceal high IQs and hearts of gold.
I place more importance on the quality of my friends than the quantity. I have quite a few good ones already, but I'm not opposed to making some more.
I like people who have something to teach me or who can show me a point of view that I've never considered before. I am tolerant and non-judgemental and I prefer friends who are the same.
I'm also the kind of person who can go without talking to one of my friends for weeks, months or even years, but then still pick back up where we left off.
If you're a racist, fascist, homophobe, bigot or religious zealot, don't add me. If you're a prevaricating, loud-mouth braggart, don't add me.
I'm very happily married, so don't message me looking to hook up. It's not going to happen. This goes doubly for cam sluts. Don't even bother adding me.
If you're a lame, quasi-alternative band and are only adding me to post advertisements in my comments section, don't bother. The kinds of music I like are clearly listed in the music section of my profile.

Television:
TV is usually what goes on in the background while I'm doing something else. My wife and I like to watch shows about true crime, the supernatural and travel. I watch CNN every once in a while to get the latest propaganda. A few shows I've recently enjoyed: CSI (Vegas only!), The Daily Show, The Colber Repoir, Gray's Anatomy, Monk and pretty much anything on Discovery and the History Channel. Oh, and Meerkat Manor is great!
Books:
I'll read just about anything that's put in front of me. I try to balance my reading habits between junk food (SF/Fantasy Fiction) and health food (History, Science, Art or anything in Russian).
Authors: HP Lovecraft, Salman Rushdie, Gore Vidal, JRR Tolkien, Harry Harrison, Oscar Wilde, Robert Jordan, Pushkin, Chekhov, Michael Crichton, Jack London, David Eddings, Al Franken, Bob Woodward, Anne Rice, Neil Gaiman, RA Salvatore (and pretty much anything and everything set in the Forgotten Realms). Books: Eats, Shoots and Leaves, Blood, Germs and Steel, Thank You For Smoking, Anansi Boys, State of Denial, The Time Traveller's Wife, American Psycho, Pirate Hunter: The True Story of Captain Kidd, Eve of Destruction: The Untold History of the Yom Kippur War, Brazilian Jujutsu:Theory and Technique. I've been reading a lot of WH 40k fiction lately.
Heroes:
"Ama me fideliter! Fidem meam noto: De corde totaliter Et ex mente tota, Sum presentialiter Absens in remota."
Lat: "Love me faithfully!/See how I am faithful:/With all my heart/And all my soul/I am with you/Though I am far away."
