About Me

Hello! I am a professional musician living in Sydenham, South East London. I play the trumpet. I was born in Cardiff, South Wales in 1972 and brought up in Pontypridd - home of the legend that is Tom Jones. I went to school in Llandaff, got a music degree at the University of Birmingham, moved down to London, spent 2 years on a postgrad course at the Royal Academy of Music, met some great mates and colleagues and have been having a lovely time here ever since! Ten years on I'm enjoying a freelance career in and around London. I get to work with a variety of orchestras and smaller groups: BBC Concert Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, City of London Sinfonia, Academy of Ancient Music, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Orchestra of Welsh National Opera, Royal National Theatre, Rambert Dance Company etc. I have performed and recorded with numerous conductors including Roger Norrington, Mark Elder, Christopher Hogwood, Simon Rattle, Leonard Slatkin, Carlo Rizzi and Alexander Polianitchko. I also work regularly in West End Theatre: Ragtime, South Pacific, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mary Poppins, Evita, Cabaret, Wicked, Lord of the Rings. I have worked abroad with various orchestras, theatre companies and solo artists in Europe, The Middle East, Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong. On the commercial side of things, artists include: James Morrison, Emma Pask, Petula Clark, Clare Teal, Hayley Westenra, Katherine Jenkins, Il Divo, Sugababes, Michael Ball, Dave Willetts, Maria Friedman, Tony Hatch, Carl Davis, Catrin Finch, Howard Goodall, The Puppini Sisters, Opera Babes, BBC Television and radio, ASV Records and projects for Atari Computer Games. I am also an avid fan of Jazz, commercial/lounge music, most things from the 70's, and collect vinyl lp's. I love London and my place in Sydenham but am still a proud Welshman at heart. Tidy.
