About Me

Nick Beaumont started halfway the eightees of the last century playing in a band at school called Flash Limited (later on just called Flash) with René R. (drums) and Raymond Bardot (bass) and several guitarplayers and keyboardplayers to come and go untill 1990. Nick sang, tried to smash the guitar once in a while and played keyboards sometimes.
In 1990 he started a colaboration with dancer/choreographer Sheila Meis and they performed the play 'Faces' at the Vestzak theater in Enschede (two shows in december 1990), a music score (written by Nick) on which silhouettes were seen on a screen on which also films (by Jeroen K.) were projected. The song 'Sorrow'was later used in Jeroen K's performance 'Rituals'.
In september 1992 he joined Diklas Revinu and Marzz to form DRP, a band which had three albums released from the beginning to 2005.
In december 1992 he joined forces with Sheila Meis again, to perform 'The observer', a play with dancers and film projections, at De Twentsche Schouwburg in Enschede. The music for this performance was written in assiocation with Bas Kumeling and co-produced by Nick and his former bandmate René R.
After the DRP debut 'Poisoned' was released Nick recorded a solo album called 'Lake shore driving' on which the DRP weird-like casette single 'Toilet tennis'.
The album is a combination of the works Nick did before; from the premature and chaotic recordings from a collaboration called 'Charlatan Couac', his performance music and DRP.
2007 Nick started writing music and lyrics again, for a new DRP album as well as solo works.
A re-release on CD of 'Lake shore driving' is in progress. The original album with the addition of some extra tracks; some old recordings and some re-recorded material. Also a new collaboration which will feature more EBM/industrial sounds is on it's way.
A CHILD LEFT BEHIND
Without high hopes of the past
Without yesterday's faith in tomorrow
a new day has begun, a new life it seems
Child again, we're ready to play
without games tormenting our mind
Child again, you and I
on equal ways, in equal thoughts
Child again, you and I
ready to cope with this life
An imaginary child
A child left behind
Staring at the sea I realise
there's no sense in drowning
but none in breathing as well
The case is closed, the door shut
from the moment you were born
So, here I am, child again
feeling kind of lost
feeling like a child left behind
