Firefly is a trio, hailing from Lisburn in Northern Ireland, who play rock music with punk overtones.. a three piece with grungy, powerhouse riffs you could build a house on. Added to the mixture are unforgettable hooks and a commercial sensitivity in the mould of Nirvana. An excellent mix of melancholy and jump around rock.
Firefly started out jamming and writing their own material about 6 months before playing their first gig in September ‘05. After playing numerious gigs around N Ireland
Firefly’s sound is the equivilant to Metallica being f**ked by The Beatles with a heavy influence from Nirvana. Firefly have also been described as T rex meets the Monkeys on Acid with a hint of REM. Firefly have been playing gigs throughout Northern Ireland for a year building up a moderate fan base along the way.
Firefly are part of an underground movement of new music that is coming out of Northern Ireland. Firefly are influenced by numerous things that goes on around them....from divorces to girlfriends to drugs to all the usual crap that happens in life.
In 2007 Firefly signed to local label AUDIOILL Firefly have just finish recored ther first label E.P which is set for release and will be in shops.With six new tracks on it. Firefly have relased this E.P through Audioill label. And is also availalbe to download through "www.tunetribe.com". or "www.audioill.com"
Firefly work on a punk rock basis from being raw and dirty with a good live sound. They have a passion for music and enjoy what they do a lot.
