About Me

" Each time i confronted white colonial society I had to convince them of my validity as a human being. It was the attempt to convince them that made me realize that I was still a slave". - Lee Maracle
WETBACK
- Juanito
They call me wetback, Although that might not reflect My experience, my life very accurately
Instead I suggest you Call me burned back, Baptized under the sun of Arizona
Call me tired back, Tired of building houses, The great structures of America, Tired of being stepped over, Humiliated, exploited, discriminated
Call me vulnerable back, A back to which many turn their backs on, Call me strong back, For I am the back that carries America To the future
Call me revolutionary back, Surviving back, You call me wet back, Although I wish there was some water in the desert Where thousands have died of thirst
You call me wet back Yes my back is wet Wet of sweat Wet of blood The sweat of hard work The sweat of fear The sweat of this burden put over me The sweat of living in shadows and dread
My back is wet of tears Wet of blood
The blood of my ancestors The blood that stains the very core Of this land The blood splattered all over my tongue My soul
And my unwritten her/history You call me wet back Although, that might not be accurate at all, Call me strong soul, Call me revolutionary self, Call me liberated existence,
My back is wet, Wet of tears, Sweat, Blood, These baptize me in to a new self I am born again The borderlands have constructed a new me
But all of those hurtful terms I reclaim As mine As my legacyBecause one day The world will look back In despair,
Today, We must change the course of time Today, We must not only wet our backs But our souls Immerse our selves, dip our selvesIn the waters of revolution, Reclamation And dignityWe must soak our selves in knowledgeLove and liberationWe must not restUntil the oasis of freedomReaches every single human beingIn the planet,You call me wet back,I don't believe that's accurate,
I am insteadA dripping soulThat leaves traces of transformationAnd commits itself to create oceansOf consciousnessI am a geyser of knowledgeA river of changeA sea of movement,I am far beyond your understanding,
We are demanding full legalization, to stop the inhumane acts of raids. President Bush and Congress do not support an im(mi)gration reform with full legalization. His administration is raiding immigrant communities and deporting thousands. But on May Day 2006 her/history was made. The world watched as millions marched and boycotted the economy. We shut down the economy in many key cities, states and border entries. In Los Angeles alone, five million plus workers shut down manufacturing companies, the ports, public transportation, construction, agriculture, gardening, home-care and day-care work, trucking, taxis, small and medium chain restaurants, factories, garment, meat industry, offices, etc. In the Midwest meat packing industries and auto parts plants were shutdown. In Florida, agriculture and construction companies closed. From Juarez, Mexico over 40,000 Mexican workers refused to cross the border to El Paso, Texas. In New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Oakland, Phoenix, Tucson, San Jose, Las Vegas, San Antonio, Orange County, and San Diego and in many other cities the boycott succeeded. Students walked out voicing their opinions and leading the im(mi)gration movement. We are declaring that May 1st 2007 to be a NO WORK, NO SHOPPING, NO SALES, NO SCHOOL, NO RAIDS, NO DEPORTATIONS, AND DEMAND PATH TOWARDS LEGALIZATION FOR ALL 12 MILLION UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS.MySpace Layouts You should create your own MySpace Layouts like me by using nUCLEArcENTURy .COM's MySpace Profile Editor !
