There are over 300 sound systems in Jamaica but when the question is asked as to which is the youngest progressive upcoming sound in Ocho Rios, without hesitation the response is ILLUSION SOUND SYSTEM. ILLUSION Sound made their 1st entry into the dancehall business in year 2005 but no one recognize us until the year 2006 and for the past 2 years it has been one of the sound systems with the most fans and magnetic force to pull crowds and cork any college parties and dancehall.ILLUSION Sound is the brainchild of Craig Andre’ Kelly (aka) Dj Craigest, a young man that hundreds of people in St. Ann today, hold in high esteem for his professionalism, credibility, and persistence of excellence.During his childhood years, Craig wanted more than anything else in the world to be the owner of his very own sound system. An ardent lover of music and growing up in Ocho Rios (Jamaica). His love for sound systems steadily developed into a lifelong fascination and he would enjoy just sitting and admiring the construction of these systems. He always pictured himself being at the control of his own set and imagined what power it would have been packed with, he then decided to get some other Dj’s because he knew he couldn’t do this thing on his own. Craig then decides to tell his other friend Norado now known as Dj Speckle, Shane aka Dj Buzz and Marcol as Biggs about the sound system thing and they accept the position as DJs on the sound. Dj craigest then form a management team, this team includes (Troy Boy, Shane Lew, Bappy and Preston Boy). ILLUSION sound is not that type of sound system with heavy duty boxes and stuff, it’s our computer we use with the programme Virtual Dj on it so when we go to play we always jack our computer to the other sound system there but we are now working on getting a sound system.When people finally recognize Illusion sound, we started playing @ a few parties and dance but we received no money because we were doing some promotion to let more people and promoters get to know us better. During that time we were afraid to venture into the ghetto area and that was why we only used to play uptown and in the Ocho Rios areas. ILLUSION SOUND Family has a friend who owns a studio called Cold Fusion located in buck’s field Ocho Rios. Cold Fusion is a fully operational recording studio is most of the top artist in Jamaica goes to record their songs. Cold fusion is operated by two producers namely Colombo and Rickard, the two Geniuses in Ocho Rios right now. Cold fusion is the Studio that gave ILLUSION SOUND their first Dub plate and we give them a lot of thanks.People always ask why the name of the sound is Illusion. I know you want to know yourself right? Well here is your answer to the question.ANS :>>>> Anytime we play music at any party are dance people thinking they are in a different world so therefore we create an illusion.
