The name Equilibrium sums up the qualities that are characteristics of what will become one of Jamaica’s premier sound systems. Tomi Trouble with his personality coming out in his fantastic mix CD’S, vibrant personality of DJ Imar and the mixing/musical genius of DJ Troy along with the excellent productions of Smoke Shop combine to create the air of balance necessary to quench Reggae music fans’ (whether in Jamaica or abroad) insatiable desire for great music, mixing, and party vibe.Established in January 2008, the Equilibrium Sound System consists of Tomi Trouble (founder & mixer), DJ Troy (mixer extraordinaire), Dj Imar (microphone personality), and Smoke Shop (musical producer). Equilibrium has taken their art beyond the typical routine of many other sound systems. Its most recent endeavor includes collaborating with two of Jamaica’s newest labels- College Boiz Production and Pay Day Music. The College Boiz label is made up of producers Dale and Izzy Don, both of whom plan to create their own distinctive sound, thereby taking Dancehall music to a different level. Their beats will be a fusion of Dancehall, R&B, and Hip Hop.DJ Troy became a part of the Equilibrium family in 2007. However, his mixing experience extends as far back as 4 years ago when he was a mere 18 years of age. DJ Troy has always been a music lover and was consequently inspired to incorporate his own mixing style into what he had heard over the years. Mixing has since become second-nature to him and as such it was inevitable for him to become a part of a sound system family whose contribution to the Jamaican music industry will be unparalleled.Tomi Trouble began thinking seriously about starting his own sound system in 2004. This kind of thinking stemmed mainly from his passion for music. After much reflection, he found that his interest lied mainly with the sound system aspect of the music industry and decided he would carve out a niche of his own in this competitive arena.Tomi’s sound system idea began to solidify in 2007 after meeting a talented selector, DJ Troy, himself a sound system/music zealot. At a mutual friend’s party, Tomi observed the skill, talent, and versatile musical selection of DJ Troy. He concluded there and then that DJ Troy would be the perfect addition to his musical endeavor: to take Jamaica by storm with a sound system that would undoubtedly break the mould in an industry where very few sound systems have dared to divert from the monotony that many of us experience on the party scene (as far as music selection/juggling is concerned). Of course, Tomi approached DJ Troy with his idea, which Troy gladly accepted as Troy knew that they could both take Tomi’s sound system venture beyond anyone’s expectations.Equilibrium, as we now know it, became official in January 2008. Equilibrium’s exposure has already gained momentum as they have already played at major sessions such as Impy Skimpy, Back 2 School Beach Party, Vybe My Hi, and Toxic Impulse.Bookings Number:Email:
