The Most Important: How and Where to Buy Agitprop! Records

The new Juha album is out! It's called The Grooms of God, and you can order it right here by clicking on the cover below. It's also available on iTunes, though we recommend the hard copy, as it comes with a 20-page, full-color booklet.

You can also order a few gems from our back catalogue over at CD Baby , where they'll even let you sample some tracks of the disc before you throw down that hard-earned cash. Good peeps, those Babies. Good peeps, you are.

Click that album cover to go get it, sailor. Or use the iTunes link and do it digitally.

Although it's not officially an Agitprop! release (despite how much we wish it was), you should really get Allyson Beatrice's (MySpace friend No. 2) book, Will the Vampire People Please Leave the Lobby? because not only will it make you laugh so loud that you may feel nauseated, but she also wrote it all by herself, unlike Angela's. This needs to be acknowledged and rewarded. Agitprop! would also like to recommend that, if possible, you buy it in person at your most favorite bookstore.
Thank God for the good people at Agitprop! Records. This small label based in Boston, Mass. provides a light at the end of a clichéd tunnel.

At Agitprop! Records, it is our pleasure to serve you tasty dishes of hardcore punk, alternative hip hop, and other strange brews that whet the whistle and strike the fancy.Founded in 2002, Agitprop!'s first release was a compilation with the rude title of Stand Up & Fucking Fight For It. Bearing the tagline "Queers in Hardcore and Punk," the album brought together music by Best Revenge, Kids Like Us, Myles of Destruction, The Rotten Fruits, and other stellar bands who collectively extended a giant Fuck You to stereotypes and mainstream taste. Our roster grew to include acts who vary wildly in sound, but who all share a spirit that is mighty disobedient to the establishment. From the “Nerdy Black Homiesexual Hip Hop” of Deep Dickollective to the two-piece noise grind of Ninja Death Squad, from Free Verse’s mix of hardcore, melodic metal, and screaming to the Middle Eastern-tinged hip hop of Juha… Agitprop! is intent on expanding the reaches of revolutionary music and artists.
Who is Agitprop!?

Before reviving Agitprop!, Angela Tavares spent the last three years wondering where it would be if she hadn't let it go. When she's not working as a full-time commuter, she's either running Agitprop! with Rex Raleigh or writing a novel. You can get a sneak peek at its characters in Userlands , a fiction anthology edited by Dennis Cooper . Angela lives in Boston and is now a proud victim of gay divorce.

Top Five: 1. The Grooms of God—Juha, 2. Legend—Bob Marley, 3. Easy Tiger—Ryan Adams, 4. Seance Prime EP— Trap Them .

Rex Raleigh left behind a seven-year dual career as porn star and bike mechanic in order to join the Agitprop! Records fold. His film roles have included Bo in Miss Congenialititties and Derek in the rock musical, A Hard Gay's Knight (co-starring his mother, Dolly Raleigh). Following his stint as Indiana Bone in Raiders of the Lost Twat, his journey into spirituality became the subject of the film documentary, The Raleigh Lama. When he's not manning the Agitprop! payroll, Rex enjoys studying nuclear chemistry.

Top Five: 1. "Just Another Night"—Mick Jagger, 2. Mutamigradaptation—The Mole , 3. Crossbreeding & Grafting—Demune , 4. "Yes, I'm A Witch"—Yoko Ono w. the Blood Brothers, 5. "Get Your Body" - Adamski featuring Nina Hagen
