LUKE SIEDLE: (pronounced Seed'lee) was born
and raised in Durban, South Africa, where he
currently resides. He picked up the acoustic
guitar at a young age and, under the guidance
of Durban - based fingerstyle guitarist, Guy
Buttery, developed his technique and began
performing.
Since then, he has played guitar for various
projects and added his unique style to the
albums and shows of Durban’s brightest new
artists. Luke is an accomplished songwriter in
his own right. Folk, rock and country
influences feature throughout his broad
repertoire of songs, which has now been
documented in his debut album entitled "Our
Stories". His beautifully written collection of
songs has been released on his independent
label, Lonely Fugitive Records, and is
distributed exclusively at LukeSiedle.com.
"Our Stories" is now available on CD and Mp3. Stream the entire album right here on MySpace.“I guess I'm willing to write a song about anything, as long as it sounds good, and that gives you quite a lot of room to move around.†:The debut album from singer songwriter and guitar player, Luke Siedle, consists of twelve vocal tracks and three instrumentals, all of which were written on the acoustic guitar. With the help of Dave Birch, Durban’s principal producer, and experienced musician, Guy Buttery, several other instruments were used to capture the natural essence of the songs, including percussion by Curtis Gallon, piano, mandolin, 12 string guitar and banjo. While it shouldn’t be labeled an experimental album, Luke consciously maintained an open mind throughout the project, allowing the songs to form as naturally as possible. The result is a work of beautiful simplicity, fifteen songs rich in imagery and texture. These are our stories…
