About Me

Hardcore is not a commodity, nor is it a fifteen year old high school fashion show. It is not an openly accessible idea and it is not your bi-anual newly found trend. Hardcore is a lifestyle, a state of mind one might say, a love for something others do not share. Going to hot topic and buying a "hardcore" t-shirt does not make you hardcore, nor does "moshing" extra hard make you hardcore. Taking something of such dire importance to some of us and turning it into a fashion statement, or just something to do on the weekends is what ruins a "scene." Hardcore is something you want, as if it is needed to fill a void or complete an aspect of your life. It is an obvious alternate to mainstream and well liked music. Unfortunately it has been turned into a well known, all around likeable entity. No longer does one have to search for this amazing, eccentric and gorgeous type of music, lifestyle, etc...but they can go anywhere and find it. Although it is nice to have something so loveable right at your fingertips, this should not allow listeners or active members of a hardcore scene forget about the want and desire for hardcore, to search for it, to need it, to want it, etc... Coming to the realization that hardcore is a dead genre, and its orignial spirit has been destroyed through mindless inconsideration is a sad state of affairs. No longer is there a want for such an amazing thing, or a need to search for it, which is saddening. So we allow hardcore to be conveniently available, and degrade everything that it once stood for, replacing true lovers of its essence with thoughtless trend followers: the sheep of this musical genre. We allow this to happen because every person who once held such an incredible thing dear has moved on, with the exception of the few of us who still search for hardcore's sincerity and outstanding qualities. I despise those who have ruined this and to be quite honest, it makes me physically ill. It's time to take back what is mine.
