About Me

Born in the late 60's, I explored the musical road that a love child between Delia Derbyshire and Syd Barrett might have found.

I love creating, especially music, and hearing other people play. When it's a song I connect with, every molecule in my body vibrates. I'm an activist for people, animals and the earth. I'm open-minded, adventurous, inquiring, honest, shy but friendly and for real.

If you'd like to hear the music on my band site, Earthgirl, you can click here or on the the first friend below. Feel free to join that MySpace page as well. All the profits from the album "Vibrations in Space" will go for global warming relief when it's released this Fall.

My own tunes are pretty laid back, but as you can read from the list to the left, I'm into just about anything and very into hearing about new bands.

It's cool to play other people's songs here, and I'll serve up new ones often.

My Interests

Music, writing, poetry, art, dance, dark chocolate, new ideas, indie flicks, anime, epic films, B movies, B sides!, love, hugs, good vibes, progressive politics, peace activism, vegetarianism, learning about new cultures and religions, vintage clothes (they fit better), thrift store wandering, lava lamps, christmas lights, night sky gazing, day sky gazing, talks about all things Jungian, Transcendental and Metaphysical, having fun.

Music:

The Earthgirl music I write mixes ambient, experimental and found sounds. It grows from real experiences and feelings on our planet, plus imagined ones. A lone car driving by late at night, far away thunder, the tapping of rain, swirls of falling stars. I'm inspired by the new music created by artists every day.

I might be listening to The Dreamers, Feist, Annie Lennox, Aimee Mann, Daniel Johnston, The Silver Apples, Brian Wilson, General Public, Beck, Bedouin Soundclash, Opal, Bjork, Fraizer Chorus, OMD, Air, The Telescopes, The Kinks, Tangerine Dream, Stereolab, Portishead, Moby, Brian Eno, ELO, The Talking Heads, Yaz, Lou Reed, Syd Barrett, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, The Police, The Clash, The Ramones, Hearts of Black Science, David Bowie, The Velvet Underground, Le Tigre, The Smiths, Morrisey, Patsy Cline, Smokey Robinson, Rufus Wainwright, The Cowboy Junkies, The Beatles, Squeeze, Pink Floyd, Scissor Sisters, The Pernice Brothers, Primal Scream, Pulp, Blur, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Yo La Tengo, Southern Culture on the Skids, Johnny Socko, The Streets, Tegan & Sara, Medeski Martin & Wood and Mozart to name just a few.

Also, any music you can groove, salsa or bellydance to is irresistible: latin jazz, acid jazz, techo, trance, especially wicked remixes and covers. Check out my Friends here for more music I love.

Just the excuse (I mean sign) that I actually NEED one. It says so. Um, sort of.
