Growing up as a fresh immigrant back in the late 70's and only having access to AM radio, my first exposure to music from your land...my land...made for you and me were the fondly remembered country music music. Such as Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, Alabama, Eddie Rabbit, Willie Nelson, etc. Then as the familys voracious drive to succeed afforded us a television console and Solid Gold was discovered, I soon started belting out Little Red Corvette with Becky in my fourth grade homeroom. Then one day David C had a tape of Ride the Lightning in 1983 which a copy was made and soon my poor mother was pleading for the hair to be cut. Chad B, the hairy mutant seventh grader, wanted to "borrow" the tape. Weeks later in front of the smokers and sluts of the seventh grade cool kids lunch table the bully turned into the bodyguard with three words..."better than Ozzy." And then there was Punk. In a nutshell, like 'em all...even Minni Vanilli haha. Currently listening to/singing at the Karaoke joint: Beach Boys, The Mamas and the Papas, Miles Davis, Hot Hot Heat, Toni Braxton, Black Uhuru, Franz Ferdinand, Beethoven, CCR, Iron Maiden, and a few others plus some oldies.
Had a dream where Anita Eckberg was staring down Lee Van Cleef. Hands at the ready to draw their katanas and being inturrupted by a convoy of exotic cars kicking up a thick cloud of dust and hearing nothing but Burt Reynolds laugh. Films with Helena Bonham Carter, Johnny Depp, Chaplin, Eastwood, Bruce Lee, or directed by Michel Gondry, Tarantino, Lynch, the Wayans, M. Night Shyalaman, Cedric Klapisch, and the like.
Currently do not watch TV but past favorites: Three's Company, Lost, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, SpongeBob Squarepants, CSPAN, Japanese comedy shows, Mazinga Z, The Smurfs, Tom and Jerry, Woody Woodpecker, Popeye, and BONANZA!!!
Founding Brothers: The Revolutionary Generation by Joseph J. Ellis, Eleven Minutes by Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, The Koreans: Who They Are. What They Want. Where Their Future Lies. by Michael Breen, Pistol Poets by Victor Gischler, The Old Man and the Sea by E. Hemingway, White Badge by Ahn Junghyo, Native Speaker by Chang-Rae Lee, Life of Pi by Yann Martel, Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden...the DaVinci Code was a load of crap!!!
