Sounds Like: I started Vinyl dj`ing roughly ‘94-‘95, and in ‘97 I bought my first PC and Cubase VST 3.7 Mainly I`ve used Cubase to learn the understanding how Tracks and Tunes are made, and as a side track / substitute, when I got bored of mix`ing records. Now these days I use everything, rewired & synchronized, Cubase SX as master, and then again rewired with Ableton Live 6.0, Reason 3.0 But in the end it all ends up in Cubase, SP 808, and a Boss1600 and a Supernova. I`m really found of the 16bit sound from DAT and other external stuff to make a more fulfilled sound to my own tracks. Playing with producing has also helped me become a better dj, now I can see the tunes (in my head) as I play records. It used to be more counting and listening. I play with structure now. I try to create my own sound, and keep it.
