Coup de Grass

Rhythm & Bluegrass, Mindless & Wonderous

About Me

Hardcore mountain soul, DC swing-grass pioneers, founders of Rhythm & Bluegrass... it's just Coup de Grass. The Coup was hatched in Hookville VA at the dawn of the neofolk craze of the late 1970s. These Stanley-addicted 'Hoos soon migrated across the watering holes of the East Coast, spreading bluegrass and doing good deeds.Their modern folk ballad about fugitive Bradford Bishop got them a deal with Adelphi Records (Weasel hosted the party); they took advantage and committed Rhythm and Bluegrass to vinyl, demonstrating that bluegrass was not done evolving.
