The Lluest Horse and Pony Trust
is a small Charity running a rescue centre for horses, ponies and donkeys at a 40-acre farm, nestling among the Black Mountains in the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside. It is the only registered horse charity in South West Wales and covers the Swansea and Llanelli areas, which are some of the worst in the UK for finding stray horses. The aim is always to restore the animals to full health and find them a loving foster home, but if this is not possible, they are assured of a safe home for the rest of their natural lives.
AIMS OF THE TRUST
To rescue and rehabilitate where possible as many horses, ponies and foals as possible, within the limits of the our funds and space.
To improve conditions at sales.
To campaign for laws controlling indiscriminate breeding.
To make the public at large aware of the cruelty going on around them.
Through the Trust, to educate the public in the proper care and management of horses and ponies.
To make available the reformed and healed rescued ponies to socially deprived and handicapped children, or to make them available to a permanent loan home through a closely supervised fostering scheme.

My Interests

Campaigning for laws controlling indiscriminate breeding. Caring for at-risk ponies and horses. Promoting good husbandry within the equine world. Raising awareness and educating the public about the cruelty that goes on around them.

Heroes:

Ginny Hajdukiewicz founded the Trust in 1985. She managed the Trust for 9 years, giving her services free and making many personal sacrifices to keep it going. She rescued many horses and ponies and provided a safe haven (Lluest is the Welsh word for haven) offering the love, care and attention that every animal deserves.
As a result of her efforts market conditions also started to improve. In 1992, however, Ginny experienced health problems and was diagnosed with breast cancer. Cancer finally claimed her life in September 1994, when she was only 38 years old. Ginny is buried at the Trust, and her favourite pony, Prince, is buried nearby.
Ginny's grave bears the words "In The Face Of Uncertainty There Is Nothing Wrong With Hope".
Her friends and supporters have since carried on the Trust's work in her memory and it is still going strong in its 21st year, thanks to the loyalty and generosity of so many people throughout the UK and abroad.
