About Me

Far far away, on the other side of the moon, out of view from our world, live the LunarTics.

They appeared back in November, 1957, when Laika, the Russian space dog, was launched into the stratosphere in a small Sputnik satellite. In the fur behind her ear lived a colony of Tics and, after an untimely scratch and preprogrammed waste excretion, these Tics ended up landing on the moon. The minimal gravity and lack of natural predators here meant the Lunar-Tics have been able to evolve and multiply.... They still however, often wonder if there really was a ‘Dog’ ?

Now populating much of the moon and living in relative comfort, the Lunar-Tics can hop around from one place to another in a nanosecond. Their crater villages are littered with and made out of rubbish; weird stuff left in space by man and alien entities. These include shopping trolleys, a World War II bomber, a London bus, satellites, tyres and bits of old computing apparatus.

As characters The LunarTics follow the accepted structure of smart guy, stupid guy, strongman, leader figure, etc. However they turn these established characteristics and ideals on their heads. The LunarTics are daft and obsessively question conventional (grown-up) wisdom as they try to solve their day to day problems through innovative, yet usually downright absurd, methods. The predictable, combined with complete madness, is a sure fire recipe for fun where moralistic viewpoints and general preconceptions pushed in more commercial based series are, for the good of all, reversed.

Their names, as the title suggests, end in ‘TIC’ and they are, amongst others and in no particular order, Fran, Miss, Nero, Polly, Anne, Roman, Joss, Sep, Coss, Alice, Eira, Jenny and Narco - tic, These names are, however, only representative of their characters to a certain point.

Also living in the LunarTics little world are;

The AutomaTics; The ultra efficient robotic LunarTic nemesis', They cause havoc to the lives of our heroes, and systematically rearrange the Lunar world (and story lines) by being logical, ordered and grown-up. They are the product of RoboTic, a half Tic half machine bad guy.

Space-Cadet; a cross between the sleepy 'Dylan' of Magic Roundabout, and Disney's' 'Buzz Light-year'. This character can fly, has weaponry, and is supposed to be fighting the Despicable intergalactic Despot Pik Naak. However he is usually asleep, or dozing. Because of his apparent adventures 'Off-moon' he is thought of as being a fountain of knowledge by the LunarTics.

Man; occasionally taking huge steps to get in the Lunar-Tics way and throw turmoil into an otherwise simple and pragmatic plot line, evident by his flags, giant moon boots and crackling radio type voices.

Elvis; ?? “Uh-huh-huh!”. A shadow who lives in a cave....
