Pistol Pete & Woody Tillderbury first met one cold autumn night in 'o4. Soon it figured out, they both listened to the same musicians, like Dylan, Cash, the Grateful Dead, the Byrds... and after Woody introduced his close companion Honky-Tonk Henry to Pete, they met almost ev'ry night in Pete's smoke-filled basement gettin' boozed-up & playin' their favorite tunes. At this time, the corner-stone of the DIXIELAND HIGHGRASS BAND was set and after their first gig, they were joined by Boogie-Down L., a lonesome guitar picker, just catched by the truth & power of Cash's songs. 'Bout the same time Jacksonville June, a jazz saxophonist and longtime friend of Woody and Henry, joined the Band. In september 'o6 Honky-Tonk Henry decided to leave home for a couple of months and the band lost their upright-bass player. Fortunately they met a friend of Boogie-Down L., Tumblin' T-Bone, who turned out to be the follower of Henry. In Juli 'o7 Henry got back from anywhere, ready to hand the band some rhythm, so he just took the drums and gave them the last cut for a perfect hillbilly-backporch sound. so lay back & enjoy a cup of hillbilly cream, served by the DIXIELAND HIGHGRASS BAND!!!
