The Ragtime Wranglers played their first 100% instrumental concert at the sold out Waterfront in their hometown Rotterdam back in 2004 (see video clip below). A year later they released their well received instrumental album "Groove a Tune". At concerts today the band add some vocal tracks in their set, but instumentals remain the major part of the show; 40's swing to 50's rockabilly to 60's surf, mainly originals, often flavoured with an extra bandmember playing percussion. Apart from Dutch listeners they already showed US, Belgian, French and Spanish audiences their modest to loud approach of the inexhaustible world of instumentals As the main Dutch music magazine "Oor" mentioned in their review on "Groove a Tune": "One of the best rootsbands in the world just live round the corner" (June 2005).

Een jaar later kwam hun instrumentale CD/LP "Groove a Tune" uit en deze werd zeer goed ontvangen Tegenwoordig speelt de band ook vocale nummers, maar instrumentale Amerikaanse rootsmuziek vult het grootste deel van de show: jaren 40 swing tot jaren vijftig rockabilly tot jaren 60 surf; voornamelijk eigen composities, vaak met een percussionist aan de bezetting toegevoegd. Buiten Nederlandse toehoorders hebben zij hun ingetogen tot luide benadering van de onuitputtelijke wereld van instumentals al met succes aan Amerikaans, Belgisch, Frans en Spaans publiek laten horen. "Een van de gaafste rootsbands ter wereld woont gewoon om de hoek" (Herman vd Horst in muziekkrant Oor juni 2005).
Miss Mary Ann & the Ragtime Wranglers is their main strength, the line-up with which they perform most of their gigs. Supported by her Dutch Ragtime Wranglers they played all the main roots festivals in Europe and the US.
