About Me

Myspace Layouts - Myspace Editor

Rockabilly trio The Memphis Rockers are not from Memphis, Tennessee. Oddly, they live 4,000 miles away from their musical roots in deepest Devon, U.K. It's the Rockers shared passion to bring the raw sound of live rockabilly music to todays audiences in the UK. They understand that rockabilly is the earliest Rock n Roll - a fusion of bluegrass, hillbilly boogie, country, and blues. And they play it like it's 1956. Add a little western swing and an instrumental or two and you've got a heady recipe for an evening's entertainment. The sounds you are listening to come from the Rockers first album "The Memphis Boogie". The files have been compressed to speed downloading so may sound a little thin. If you want to hear any of the songs on the album in gloriously phat 128kbit stereo, you'll have to visit the band's website at http://www.thememphisrockers.co.uk/music.htm and buy the album! Check the Memphis Rockers website for more info, dates and contacts.
