About Me

I was born Bulee Gaillard, January 4, 1916 in Detroit, Michigan I've done it all....I was a professional boxer, a mortician and a bootleg alcohol runner. I started my career as an entertainer in Vaudeville in the early 30s playing a guitar while tap-dancing. By the end of the 30's I moved to the Big Apple and started preforming with a swingin' bassist (Slam Stewart). We had many a hit Oronie including 'Flat Foot Floogie'. Looking for some sun O'roonie I moved to Los Angeles and recorded with many a bebop musician.....including Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie. One radio station banned the hep little number 'Yep Roc Heresy', who knew that reading off an Armenian menu could have such an impact. By the late '50's I got tired of the La scene and worked mostly outside music, for example:In the 1960's I ran a motel in San Diego to pass the time and see the jive that would go down after that I headed up north to Washington to raise apples. In addition to singing and guitar playing, I can play piano, vibraphone and tenor saxophone.
