James East

Born in San Diego, CA, bassist James East was the youngest child of a big musical family influenced by a wide variety of music from Mozart to Miles to Motown and everything in between.
At the age of eleven James had an intense interest in the low end of the musical bandwith and decided to learn trombone. Years later after exploring the brass world he became intrigued with a bass guitar that was left laying in his living room by his older brother and world renowned bassist Nathan East. James quickly gravitaded towards his instrument and it´s frequency. Within months he was in demand rapidly performing in the local San Diego music scene.
In 1991 with his newfound and expanding talent, James began touring and recording nationally and internationally with the likes of Lionel Richie, Laura Pausini, Toni Braxton, Patti LaBelle, James Ingram, Kevyn Leattau, Dori Caymmi, Ralph Johnson of Earth, Wind & Fire and Sergio Mendes to name a few.
With a passion for quality, innovation and global rythms, James East is rapidly becoming one of the most in-demand players in the Southern California area.
Other credits include Eric Clapton, Tommy Simms, David Foster, Clint Black, Celine Dion, Elton John, performances for King Bhumibol Adulya of Thailand and Christmas at the Vatican for Pope John Paul II.
