The GMC profile is open to all inquiring minds to all and was erected for four reasons:
1) To support the Goth Music Share group.
2a) To establish a music profile that will correct misconceived views on what is Goth rock and many of its offspring genres.
2b) To correct misconceived views on what is industrial music and many of its offspring genres.
3) To hopefully generate new interest in Goth rock, Deathrock, Batcave, Post-punk, Darkwave, Industrial and other musical genres.

This profile will remain politically apathetic. However it must be stated that we here at The Goth Music Profile support art in any form but we do not tolerate bigotry or hate speech. Goth rock is a musical amalgamation with input from many sources including varying ethnicities, cultures, dogmas, styles of art, political beliefs, and philosophies.
Many deathrock artists such as Rozz Williams ( 1 ) and post-punker artists such as Siouxsie Sioux ( 1 and 2 )have been known to wear the Nazi swastika during performance and or during photo-ops. This is not a form of hate speech, instead it is a form of shock tactics. This is why we here at the Goth Music Community refuse to shy away from artists who have donned the swastika at one time or another, or have incorporated various Nazi imagery and or slogans into their bands (See Joy Division 1 and 2 , Death In June 1 and 2 , March Violets 1 , NON 1 , Throbbing Gristle, Current 93, SPK, and others).
