About Me

With a range of songs dealing with topics from the obscurity of night, to the inability of language to assure itself, from the need to answer to the heart, visionary rebellion, the certainty of death and then perhaps the the possible end of death by its own arrival, Curtains works with themes that make them more fit to tow a cult line then readily access mainstream popularity. Their sound gracefully weaves various musical genres together with a seemingly full awareness that within one sits another. The more fundemental aspects of yadda yadda are there, only better accompanied by the more specific influences of yadda yadda. When asked to describe the sound of the bands' music, Alex shrugs his shoulders, overturns his palms and says, "Calico, like those kinds of cats." It seems like a question he is ready to leave to another's ears, one that perhaps continues to attempt and snare him so that it can now only be answered in playful or metaphoric terms. Nevertheless, their versatility of sound has won them the attention of a steadily and equally versatile fan base, helped to play alongside what can only be described as music strongholds, and landed them poignant spots on music festivals both in the states and abroad. Curtains self released a Cd titled "War Paint" and one self titled "Curtains" ep thorugh Criminal I.Q. Records, however both are currently sold out. We are told to anticipate a second full length release in late 2008, so heads up.~Nightbloom Press MyGen Profile Generator
