THE TAMBORINES
Based in London UK, The Tamborines came to being when core members
Lulu Grave (Keyboards, Percussion) and Henrique Laurindo (Guitar, Vocals) started
recording some songs on a 4 track in their own bedroom in West London.
They have been rapidly gaining acclaim throughout
London with their mind-blowing synthesizer heavy, tripped out live shows.
the band has released the single SALLY O'GANNON on Sonic Cathedral Records
(UK) and Planting seeds Records (USA) to excellent reviews and shared
the stage with names like the brian jonestown massacre, the warlocks,
fields,
cold war kids, sarabeth tucek, mark gardener, the lovetones,
malajube, hatcham social, serena maneesh, the left outsides, and
played uk and european festivals alongside primal scream, the stooges,
charlatans, electric soft parade, goldrush amongst others.
for 2008 the band is set the release a new single and an EP.

A sound that no other bands are replicating at the moment.
IS THIS MUSIC?
COME TOGETHER - The Beatles, MC5, Spiritualized, Primal Scream… they’ve all had songs with the same title, but this anthemic indie-rocker is up there with the best of them
NME
Buzzing, fuzzing, squealing, squalling. This is a fabulously nasty pop single, loaded with all the right elements without being complicated; darkly Reid-esque* vocals, cute wee minimalist bleeps on the keyboards, viciously fuzzed up guitar, a creepingly infectious tune.Black and white flashes. ‘31st Floor’ sounds leanly monochrome, like flicking through ‘Up-tight’, everybody’s favourite Velvet Underground book. “I trip inside your wired mind†sings Henrz, word associating to The 13th Floor Elevators. And indeed, to Primal Scream. You can imagine Bobby singing this if Primal Scream were still good. But they’re not, so enjoy The Tamborines’ impeccable coolness (the elegant sleeve houses a clear vinyl seven inch!) and ability to write irresistible tunes. And there’s value for money too, with not a b-side in sight. Over on the flip you get ‘Come Together’, familiar to anyone who’s seen The Tamborines live as that sweet-hearted fuzzbomb that has you nodding along furiously, powered by hard-edged guitar jangling, big thumpy drums, soary Ride-like vocals and a wonderfully swoopy tune.

KITTEN PAINTING
31ST FLOOR - Forthcoming single from Brazilian Drone-Pop trio. Sounds like
The Byrds on some very bad acid. Amazing.
NME
An incendary device in the form of a double-A sided single from a Brazilian band based in London. It's a real classic for me and follows on from the bands' release last year on Sonic Cathedral.
ROCKSELLOUT
The Tamborines somehow always manage to get loads of retro feel but remain solidly grounded inside contemporary pop-rock music.
TOXIC PETE
Happy music for people who don’t like happy music?
MANCHESTER MUSIC
Impressively mancunian-sounding shoe gazing with a modern spin…
SUBBA-CULTCHA
Not only is this a grower, but the psychedelic overtones will make this a firm favourite before the second listen is over.

THE TAMBORINES SALLY O'GANNON
PLANTING SEEDS RECORDS PSRCD046 (USA)
Just take it for what it is: pop at it window-rattlingly loudest. The title track
unleashes an unapologetically noisy guitar on a vocal that sounds more in tune with
the dreamy likes of Elephant 6 acts like Of Montreal and The Apples in Stereo.

"Insanely catchy chorus + INCREDIBLY LOUD guitars = perfect pop music!"
NME
'Sally O'Gannon' sounds like pop songs probably did way back when
The Byrds were flying 'Eight Miles High' and so forth"
