About Me

The Cigarette Burns formed in Sunderland, England in the summer of 1985, gatecrashed, played & got banned from venues around the north-east before splitting for good in 1986. ALF (Paul Dryden) RIP, Sadly on the 21.06.07 Alf passed away. He had been unwell for the last year or so, 20 odd years of serious drinking had done him no good. Alf will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. Thanks to everone who turned up to Alf's funeral & at The Royalty later on.Saturday 30.6.07 a gig dedicated to Alf was held at the Borough,Sunderland, featured Holy Racket, Loaded 44, Rigid Digits&Firing Squad . Saturday 21.06.08 a tribute gig was held at the Clarendon pub in Sunderland, featuring Loudmouth, The Creepers & 1977. Over £500 was raised for charity.The Cigarette burns were the 1st Punk band to play The Borough in 1985, the band put Punk gigs on upstairs, Thursday nights for 2 months, till the pub was closed and refurbished into The Borough as it is today.PAGE UPDATE 14.09.07........MP3 TRACKS NOW ON THE PAGE! The Cigarette Burns live at the Broken Doll, Newcastle 11.07.85 .Finally got round to ripp'n stuff onto MP3. This was the bands 2nd gig but the !st with a proper set list, the sound is a bit ropey, but what can you expect from a cassette player! fuck'n high tech punk rock!
