Philly Phunk in Da house

About Me

Welcome to my Myspace Site, I hope you find it interesting and the music enjoyable.
I was born 24 July 1966 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. My father was a drummer so at age 6 I started playing drums. But one drummer in the family is enough so at age 10 I started playing the trumpet and as I always put it "fooling around on the bass now and then". In 1984 I joined the Army Band as a Trumpet Player. One of my commanders heard me play drums and I immediately switched. It wasn't until 1985 I began to devote myself to the bass. The Military was a great challenging experience. I have been all over world and done many things musically and as a Soldier.
Some of my recording and performance credits include "Sweet Lights, Sweet Music - Live!" with the Temple Jazz Orchestra, also with the Temple Jazz Orchestra playing with special guest Ernie Watts, The 2000 Corpus Christie Jazz Fest, playing at the Seoul Olympics in 1998 and opening for Kirk Whalum at the San Antonio Jazz Festival in 2004
Some of my influences are Stanley Clarke, Sting, Stevie Wonder, Rocco Prestia, John Pattitucci, Victor Wooten, Mark King, Anthony Jackson, Brian Bromberg, Jaco, Pat Metheny, Michael Brecker and many many more.
In 2004 I retired from the Military Band after 20 years of service. "I'm bringing the Philly sound to Texas".
