A soldier's story

About Me

The Josh DiStefano Quartet are 4 friends brought together by war. Josh, Steve, Chris and Brian just returned from a year in Iraq playing for the troops. This music is their vision of the Iraq experience, for better or worse. They played these songs all over Baghdad and the surrounding areas. It was a long year, but bringing music to those who need it most, is always worth it.While deployed, Josh and the guys decided to try to record an album in Iraq documenting their journey. This music is a result of that idea ............................................................ ...........................................Josh grew up in Los Angeles, and started playing the piano at age 14. Developing a love for blues and rock he moved to Boston at 18 to study at the Berklee college of music. While there Josh was introduced to jazz and studied many forms of composition. In 1996 he graduated from Berklee with a degree in Film Scoring. Shortly afterward Josh enlisted in the US Army band as a piano player. He has been stationed in Alaska, Georgia, Texas, Iraq (2 tours) and has just moved to Kentucky. He has been featured on Television and Radio, has given clinics at numerous colleges and high schools, and has been lucky enough to perform with The Charlie Daniels Band, The Drew Carey Comedy Tour, and the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders.
