About Me

Sprung out of a collaboration between bassplayer Olle Boden and drummer Ken Savefjord, Mercury Fang were founded just about a year before the new millenium. Håkan Granat on guitars, Fredrik Glimbrand on vocals and Jörgen Schelander on keyboards made the band complete.

The idea was to focus on good songs, one thing the guys didn't hear much of in those days. It didn't take long before Mercury Fang had toured together with bands like Freak Kitchen, Big Elf and House of Shakira. After the show at Swedens premier festival, Sweden Rock Festival in 2001, they decided the time was right to record their first cd.

Liquid Sunshine was released in 2003 through Rivel Records.
The cd was mixed by Pontus Norgren(Talisman, Great King Rat etc) and recorded with the assistance of Morgan Ã…gren(Frank Zappa). "Whitesnake on steroids" and "Classic Rock made in a modern way" were two of many great reviews and later that same year they contributed with a song on a tribute cd, The Sweet according to Sweden.

In late 2004 Mercury Fang recorded two songs for a compilation cd made by Platinum Records. This was the last recording session with drummer Ken Savefjord. When it was time to start recording the second cd Martin Larsson, previously of Stabb, was the 5th member. The new cd Ignition will be released in 2007.
