About Me

Raised in a family of musicians, and having a talent for music, I instead chose to focus on art. From a small west Texas hometown of Seminole, it was hard NOT to be exposed to music because every family gathering was a jam session. My father played lead guitar for Buck Owens in Bakersfield California when Owens was just beginning to be "known". Then an accident resulted in the loss of four fingers of Dad's left hand. Undaunted, after he healed, he proceded to have a custom made metal bar that he could hold with his left hand, then started playing the steel guitar. I admire that kind of courage and and determination. There is one thing I will always be thankful for, my parents..they always encouraged us to pursue our dreams and not be discouraged or distracted from our goals. Fiercely independent, I think they instilled that in their children and made us stronger for it. As to my pursuits, I am an artist, graphic designer and illustrator. Having sold my first painting at the age of 16. Have illustrated several books and publications over the years, among the latest is a book of short stories called "Tales From The Corner", which can be seen at this website: Talesfromthecorner.com.
