The idea of the band, RXTREME, was created by Giovanni LoPorto. Giovanni played electric guitar during his childhood, then quit to race motocross. After attending college and earning a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree, he again began playing guitar, attending concerts, and listening to all the new and old rock. Influenced by many bands, including: METALLICA, LED ZEPPELIN, BLACK SABBATH, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, VAN HALEN, OZZY, THE DOORS, TOOL, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, TED NUGENT, AND GODSMACK, he felt that he had a sound to offer that was different enough to record. "My goal was to have lyrics as powerful as the music"~Giovanni. He couldn't find others that could practice on a regular basis to create the sound he was looking for, so he decided to create a solo- project- self-released CD. Playing all the instruments, writing all the lyrics, singing, and mastering the final product. "I write best when I'm feeling down" recalls Giovanni. Writing lyrics, is an emotional release for me". Giovanni is currently working on his next album, with all new material and sound. A new CD single "I Still Believed" has just been released and will be followed by the new album in 2008.
