Below is a brief overview of some bands and projects that I've played in:
OCEAN SEVEN
(1992 - 2001).... L.A. based progressive hard rock band formed in 1992 by Rob Duvall and Rick Marino. OS wrote 2 albums and supported several national touring act bands like Fates Warning, King's X just to name a few.... 1st album - AGOE known as "A Gathering Of Elements". A concept album which was one long song split up into 7 parts. Familiar styles of writing ala Fates Warning, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Rush and Yes.... 2nd album - "Isolated", not a concept album each song stood on its own. Included were 7 songs with a long 17 minute song at the end of the album.
SnM PROJECT (1999 - 2001).... Formed by Rick Marino and Shawn Stewart. While on a break from Ocean Seven, Shawn the bass player in OS and Rick put together a side project, compiled and wrote about 7 tracks of material. The goal from the outset was to have a complete 2nd band and to find a singer but unfortunately that never happened. The music style was progressive / hard rock with a modern edge ala Porcupine Tree, King's X, Black Sabbath with subtle VH on the guitar.
Below are some bands & projects I'm currently involved with:
BEHIND THE FACE (2005 - ).... Originally formed in 2003 BEHIND THE FACE put together by guitarist Rob Duvall and drummer Rick Marino both whom founded prog rock band Ocean Seven is slowly and currently putting there final pre-production touches on what will soon be a progressive / metal / rock / powerhouse with a modern edge. We finally decided on a band name in late 2005 on a road trip down to Baltimore while taking a break from writing during a 3 week period in which Rob (guitarist) flew out from California. As we speak Rob is working on bass parts for some of our material so that our friends and fans can sample. November 2007 Rob recently flew out once again as we now have written a total of 11 songs for our first album. We will continue to write but the material will be put on the shelf for the 2nd album so this way we will be that much more further ahead of the game when we have inked a label deal. Currently we are auditioning vocalists all across the US as well as posting ads every where in order to find the right guy. As soon as we land the right vocalist for BTF we will let everyone know. The main focus will include dark edged music that will be forever memorable to any audience while being accessible to any fan that likes diverse music. Hold on tight, keep all hands and arms in at all times. Get ready for the ride!
INGAGED (2007 - ).... Currently we are in the final process of completing my new band called INGAGED . We are doing an all out US search for a vocalist and guitarist, which will complete the band. The music will be in the vein of progressive / hard rock / metal style with several swirling twists and a very modern edge. Our motto is, to leave no stone unturned. It has been a slow process do to the fact that I'm involved with several recording projects but like they say in the business the show must go on and so will INGAGED. So please be patient and I will update everyone when new news breaks.
