About Me

We formed at the beginning of 2007 and made one EP "Travels in Anhedonia" in a single days work. Got some good reviews, played a shedload of concerts in some unusual places and started evolving. Since then we've added a new member on percussion (not that we're going world music on your ass) and recorded a new set of songs in Feb 2008 for an EP "Stronger than wine" that are posted up here. The songs used to be angry and sad but we seem to be enjoying life more these days, although we still get pissed up and pissed off.
A CD collecting all TGOL recordings plus some demo apocryphia should be coming out soon, so start saving up your pocket money now.
Other band references and side projects : Dave plays with Polder and the Grasswidows, most of us played with Lola Spinner at some stage (prior to on-stage meltdown) and Yorick used to play with our good friends Jinx.
Expressions of undying love, proposals for paying work etc to :

ps special thanks to Tristan Abgrall for his work on these recordings and thanks also to Sylvain Meunier-Colin for the new photos

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: David John (voice, guitar), Guillaume (bass, voice), Olivier (drums), Yorick (guitar) . . . and introducing gentleman Fred Blancot on assorted percussion and general good vibrations.
Influences: More than you think, less than you can hear.
Sounds Like: Dinosaur Jr and Crazy Horse used to get mentioned a lot, along with Nick Cave and other tenebrous types. These days there's some touches of early 70s Stones getting into the mix. Well, we'd like to think so.
Type of Label: None
