Reaching their current formation in the summer of 2003 and kicking your ass from the moody town of Puurs, Belgium, The Donuts have become that one poppunk band to really cheer up your Bar Mitzvah afterparty. With a blend of energy, melody motivation and drive The Donuts hit you with catchy, insanely rocking songs, mostly about their life experiences, hopes and dreams which they love to share with the many youngsters hanging on every word.Writing explosive songs, playing high-energy shows, and focusing on the fun in making music have made The Donuts a band to watch. The bands love for the crowd and their love of music takes a hold of everyone who sees them perform their music live.During the last few years The Donuts have been working hard to build up a reputation for themselves by playing as many shows as they possibly could, trying to leave an inevitable mark in every town and making as many friends as they can on the way.The Donuts' hard work and determination allowed them to finish in the finals of 100% Puur; an opportunity that allowed them to play Maanrock 2004 with bands like Dog Eat Dog, Funeral Dress,The Donuts just released a split CD with 3 other Belgian bands: Idem, Seven Oaks and Brave Like a Cowboy. Hoping by that way their music gets to the people even faster.theDONUTS continue to work hard and in the summer of 2005 they won the jury price at the Thats all Punks rally in Kortijk. This resulted in a free 2-days recording session at Fatsoundz studios in Knokke Heist, results of that will be available soon. In the fall of 2005 theDONUTS also became the face of the 5 years Poppunt campaign, the boys were (ab)used for a commercial on television and for the Muzikantendag 2005 poster and website. In October of the same year they won Studio Brussels first demopoll of the new season with both jury as public votes. theDONUTS couldnt stay unnoticed and then Stage-Mania walked by with an offer they couldnt deny so from then on they didn't have to worry about bookings themselves anymore. For the new year they got already selected for Humo's Rock Rally and Latent Talent. Later on, in October 2006, theDONUTS made their second TV appearance on Jim TV, for 'EA Bandslam'. They were selected for the last three bands and were one of the headliners of this television show. A month later, they won an award as 'best band' in their neighbourhood, @ the 'Rupelawards'. Further on, writing songs with a danceable and punky edge and playing as much shows as possible, are the things those 'nuts' guys are up to right now.www.thedonuts.be
