About Jazzam -
Jazzam is a high energy, get the party started, jazz/power-funk band. This quintet's sound follows in the vein of classic funk & soul with a tasteful dose of a variety of modern influences including jazz, rock, soul, funk, R&B, and world music. In a recent 2006 review of Jazzam's new album "It's About Time," the music editors at The Homegrown Music Network noted that, "Jazzam has something for everyone in their splendid sound. Rollicking bass lines, spirited guitar, keyboard, and horn solos, and intense vocals are just some of the building blocks of their texturally diverse music."
About Fourth River -
Formed in the in the winter of 2005, Fourth River came to be when Bill Smith and Aaron Bennett (formerly of Patchwork Blu) contacted drummer Keith Ruffing (formerly of Pied Piper) to start a new project. Along with guitarist Shawn "Spar" Speer (Gruvbak) and Pat Stehley (Pavlov's Roomate) the band discovered their common musical interests quickly. Influenced by grassroots jam giants like Widespread Panic, Phish, and others, and coupled with pure admiration of traditional jazz and seventies R&B, Fourth River creates an eclectic, unique and original style of music. With the lineup solidified, Fourth River has made a very quick and favorable impression on the local Pittsburgh scene.
About modQUAD -
Arriving on the Cleveland music scene in 2005 with a series of shows at popular Northeast Ohio clubs, Cleveland, Ohio's mödQUAD consists of four fairly diverse musical entities. Greg Wascak (guitar, vocals), Fred Cousin (bass, samples) Michael Marotta (keys), and Chris Rossvanes (drums) are adding their sound to a new scene currently developing in the area. Their music is sculpted from a variety of scattered influences that are blended together to form a unified and cohesive sound that is all their own. With this mixture of solid grooves, vocals, and extended improvisational jams, mödQuad looks to develop an original sound that is for the listener’s appreciation.
About Symmetrical Kickboxing -
Symmetrical Kickboxing was spawned by 4 young lads from the hilltops of Morgantown, WV. Each member comes together for one common goal, to make the people of the world dance. Symmetrical Kickboxing is an ancient form of Martial Arts that combines quick and swift movements with deep rooted technique. One must be cunning, agile, and quick footed in order to master the art of Symmetrical Kickboxing. It is wise to learn, because one day you might be approached by someone trained in the dark arts of Symmetrical Kickboxing, and your lack of knowledge will leave you un-guarded and un-prepared, and that so-called warrior of dance will steal your wallet, and light your pants on fire...
About CK-9 and the Old-E Allstars -
After two years on the scene, CK9 and the Old E Allstars bring the funk on every level. With a stage show that ranges from soulful slow jams to funkified blues tunes, to the dirtiest, most slimy brand of funk known to man. Filled with hooks, the bands original compositions always get the crowd moving and singing along. The repertoire of covers pays homage to some of the all time greats and biggest influences on the music of the Old E Allstars such as James Brown, Al Green, and Rick James. Plans for 2007 include hitting the East Coast festival circuit and gigging to promote the album “Funk In Your Hand†and spreading the gospel of our brand of music - COSMIC SOUL FUNK.
About Technicolour Brother -
We all met at a homeless shelter on Lombard street during the spring of 2006. We then stole a van that had a bunch of music equipment in it and opted to learn to play the instruments rather than pawn them off for drug money. Things have been well ever since, except that the van still smells like 4 homeless guys live in it. I don't know if that smell will ever go away...
About The Fools of Perception -
Two musicians travel through California along the Pacific Coast Highway where they come into connection with a spirit named Jacob Crane who gives them the legendary songs of time. He sends them on a path to the East Coast to find "The Legend" a man who lived through the 60's, the 70's and so on. After finding him, they absorb the true spirit of rock n' roll and continue on to find the others who, through time and experience, become the Fools of Perception.
About 28 North -
28 North is a band forged in the eternal molten heart of the steel city, three new age warriors of rock and roll. They offer unheard worlds of rock, funk, blues, and americana, with a purpose that's simple and pure: bone crushing riffs, soul grabbing textures, timeless songs, and endless harmony.
About EP3 -
EP3 can vaguely be described as equal parts rock, electronic, funk, and trance, all served with a hefty dose of psychedelic improvisation. Accompanied by a top of the line light show, the live experience is what makes this band unique. Each show is an adventure, each jam an excursion into the unknown. By maintaining captivating improvisation and engaging songwriting, EP3 is playing all over Ohio and the rest of this country of ours!
