My Interests

Cats - ALL cats, The Victorian Era, Maneki Neko Japanese Lucky Cats (I love to make Lucky Cat jewelry & art, I have a website threecatsgraphics.com where you can see my artwork), Oscar, Things Nautical (my great grandfather was a wooden shipbuilder on Oregon's West Coast in the late 1800s, he designed many schooners and other wooden ships that traveled the US West Coast, the East Indies and one, The Western Shore, that set a record sailing from Portland, OR to Liverpool, England at the then brisk pace of 101 days in 1877)
below is a painting my mother did of The Western Shore:

Wine (drinking it & visiting wineries), Autumn & Halloween, and as always, journeying down the path of Continual Learning.
This is Moonchaser, an Autumn Maneki Neko

I'd like to meet:

Several I already know or have known, several have crossed to the Other Side, some are still here. And of those who have gone and those who remain, the ones who have no desire to bring about my demise.

Music:

A bewildering and farscoping array of CDs, DVDs, and good old fashioned vinyl records are in my collection. I listen to about everything, but have favorite songs and artists in each genre and am always open to new music! It's very difficult to pinpoint music, but I love Celtic music, orchestral music (will elaborate on that later), loved MP3.com before it was raped. I don't watch MTV or VH1 much anymore, there is more new music I like on the Internet, glad to be finding so many cool bands on MySpace. Some of my old standby and favorite music are by Stray Cats (my fave band in the entire Universe, oh and Brian Setzer's Orchestra, nothing is finer), Mountain, Boomtown Rats, Ramones, Blondie, Deep Purple, ELO, The Move, Roy Wood, Idle Race, OLD Fleetwood Mac, Dixie Chicks, music with a Goth twist, Bing Crosby, and Alice Faye *Oh, you Nasty Man*. My brother and I loved the Beatles, I learned my fist guitar riffs to the Beatles music. When I was ill from school my mother always bought me a Beatles album to make me feel better. Walter, my Bengal cat, loves a CD I did called Tiger Music, a collection of instrumental Oriental music I made for him.In 2000 I produced a CD called To Oscar a Collection of Aesthetic Melodies. I wanted to hear this music and could find it available no place else so I sampled it myself from original sheet music dated 1882. All songs relate in some way to Oscar Wilde and date from his 1882 American Tour. It was quite a project and has had several write ups.

Movies:

Another Gamut of mention, like music, I watch about everything. There are a lot of movies I've seen I refuse to comment on, perhaps, you enjoy those, I respect that. What I enjoy to date: well, there you go: Across the Universe, LOVED it!!! Transformers, loved it! All Disney Pirates movies, loved those! It's a long list, but here's the update: Loved the Lord of the Rings trilogy AND the Ralph Bakshi animated one based on Fellowship of the Rings, they talk so little about, it had a much overlooked cool soundtrack (and don't dispel that early Rankin Bass version of the Hobbit); Lady in White; Dark Night of the Scarecrow; The Haunting (the original one); "Spirited Away" and this director's relative features who now reside with Disney; Narnia; Gay Purr-ee; *Hells Bells, if you haven't seen Disney's Blackbeard's Ghost for a long time, check it out* - Velvet Goldmine; The Others; Cemetery Man; Bram Stoker's Dracula; Edward Scissorhands (I always watch that if it's on TV, that and Grease:) and who can't resist a good version of Hairspray? be it new or old; and, I admit, I always love to watch Rock & Roll High School and relate to it.... Disney, I like lots of Disney things. And, my mother is a fan of Divine, she likes Pink Flamingos for old time's sake... White Christmas (and its close relative Holiday Inn), love both those, love the songs & all the cast. Pan's Labyrinth, a true rendition of a fairy tale (remember they weren't always "happily ever after" but this one eventually was) I'll think about it and report...

Television:

Food Network (which seems to be on all day here), History Channel, Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel, A&E, Animal Planet, Travel Channel, and some others at various times. HBO's Six Feet Under, Big Love, and Deadwood. PBS's mini series Lillie. I also have a penchant for 1980's children's cartoon shows, especially Kidd Video and the early Transformers, Thundercats, and I never missed an episode of PeeWee's Playhouse:) I still enjoy my old VHS tapes of Animaniacs on rare occasions. And I cruise Youtube for things I missed, or just need to see again, or just find unusual:) Hobo Kelly rocks on.

Heroes:

Objective is best for all viewers.
