About Me

Lydia's song 'Please' is featuring on 272 Records' Acoustika Vol 8 compilation CD. The compilation will be released on 8th Jan, 2008 through Amoeba Music and www.amazon.com

With an intimate sound blending indie folk and pop rock, Lydia Phillips is an Australian singer/songwriter emerging as a dynamic artist.
Lydia released her debut EP ‘Hibiscus January’ and launched it with her band to a full house at the East Brunswick Club in October 2007. Their pop/rock track ‘Please’ features on Hollywood label 272 Records’ compilation CD ‘Acoustika Vol 8’ which was released globally in January 2008.
Since beginning solo gigs in Port Fairy, Western Victoria, as a 17-year old, Lydia has played at music festivals, jazz clubs, lounges and pubs, often appearing with her guitarist and regular co-writer Tim O’Donnell. She performed solo in New Jersey, USA in 2005.
Now joined by a talented band - Tim O'Donnell on guitar, Jeremy Staples on bass, Dan Angelini on drums and Madeleine Coulter ..o - the group's energy onstage has captivated eclectic crowds.
“Wow is the word. [Lydia] is magic on stage… an artist who truly restores your faith in music” (Clear Springs Entertainment)
"Gorgeous melodies and soft sweet songs ... a beautiful performance... A very good start to hopefully a long, successful career" (Mediasearch)
Her live shows are known to draw the masses. As Melbourne’s renowned club Manchester Lane has found,
“she packs them in!” - Manchester Lane entertainment guide.
The EP is enjoying regular airplay on local community radio and has been celebrated as
“the best release by a local artist in a long time” (Clear Springs Entertainment).
