With an intimate sound blending indie folk and pop rock, Lydia Phillips is an Australian singer/songwriter emerging as a dynamic artist.
Lydia released her debut EP ‘Hibiscus January’ and launched it with her band to a full house at the East Brunswick Club in October 2007. Their pop/rock track ‘Please’ features on Hollywood label 272 Records’ compilation CD ‘Acoustika Vol 8’ which was released globally in January 2008.
Since beginning solo gigs in Port Fairy, Western Victoria, as a 17-year old, Lydia has played at music festivals, jazz clubs, lounges and pubs, often appearing with her guitarist and regular co-writer Tim O’Donnell. She performed solo in New Jersey, USA in 2005.
Now joined by a talented band - Tim O'Donnell on guitar, Jeremy Staples on bass, Dan Angelini on drums and Madeleine Coulter ..o - the group's energy onstage has captivated eclectic crowds.
