Matteo Magarotto (better known as dj Matte) was born in Bologna / Italy in august 1979. Ever since his child-hood he has been fascinated by many diferent styles of music. His interest has passed genres like classical, rock, metal, world music, GOOD music of any kind really. As well he had a great desire to understand music and its laws better, so as a child he took piano-classes and as he became a teen-ager he formed part in a rock-band being the lead vocal. Than, after having his first experience in the electronical movement, he immediatelly changed course and decided to focus 100 % on becoming an active member. The first few years that followed, he helped organizing techno-events of international tribes like: Spiral Tribe, Okupe, Facom, Mutoids, Sound Conspiracy and others. Than, Matte visited his first psy-parties and realised he had found his mission, or better said: the first step towards his final goal. In 1999 he creates the organizaton: “Dancing Elves”, and later, in 2003 he starts developing the cultural association “Electronic Brain” with the goal to help the psy-scene in Italy grow and develop in a more mature way. He took different steps with this association, varying from offering a web-site that concludes information about national and international events, information about new releases of several labels he co-operates with, interviews with national and international artists, etc, plus, to organising quality parties which always include an international line-up, professional decoration, nice locations, and flyers that contain all info needed and good design. Over the years he as well worked as a resident dj for a radio-transmission, with as main audience the underground-scene of Bologna. In 2006 and 2007 Matte had the opportunity to deliver the Italian section of the ‘Trancers Guide of the Galaxy’. He has always been in a good co-operation with the Italian label “Magma Records” and since 2006 he became a label-dj for the Israely label “Utopia Records”. The style he prefers to play for the people could be mentioned as: groovy morning full on. Lately he has started exploring music-production, Cubase being his prefered sequencer. He has played in countries like: Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Mexico, Turkey and all over Italy. Watch out for a gig of Matte near you!!!!

Dj Matte (Utopia Records), nacio' en Bologna, al norte de Italia, en agosto de 1979. Ha estado presente en la escena trance de Italia desde ace ya varios años, hasta consolidarse como uno de los dj's mas reconocidos de dicha escena. Su contacto con escena trance italiana arranco en 1996 y en el año 2000 se envolvio' dentro de la organizacion de grandes eventos. Es aclamado per la enorme calidad de sus mezclas y la buena seleccion de canciones como tambien por su abilidad de elevar al maximo la atmosfera psicodelica en el dancefloor. Su estilo es definido como fullon mañanero con toques groovies. En diciembre del 2003 comienza con Electronic Brain, equipo cultural pionero en introducir el movimiento cultural psytrance de la escena italiana, teniendo importantes colaboraciones con variedad de Artistas y Labels de todo el globo. Dj Matte actualmente trabaja en revisar nuevos longplays y entrevistar a varios artistas, lo cual puedes encontrar en www.electronic-brain.it. En el 2006 y 2007 le dan la oportunidad de partecipar en la revista Trance Guide to the Galaxy con un reportaje especial de la escena Trance Italiana, cabe mencionar que dicha revista es conocida mundialmente.
