After his graduation in 1981, Marc pursue his musical education at the Berklee Jazz School of Music in Boston.He graduates in composition and arrangement in 1983. Back to New York in 1983 Marc study with avant-Garde Jazz Violinist, Leroy Jenkins and with Jazz guitarists Mike Stern and John Schofield.Major influences from : Georges Duke, Miles Davis, Dexter Gordon, Kenny Baron,Wes Montgomery, Mike Stern, Jimmy Hendrix, Carlos Santana, Joao Gilberto,Gal Costa, Sergio Mendez, Carlos Jobim, Georges Benson,Jimmy Smith, Muddy Water etc...In 1984, Marc starts working on his Jazz Brazilian project and starts the Band ..Foreign Exchange..with bass great Nat Valentine and later piano great Jon Raney.The band performs in NY and among many other venues at the prestigious Breaker Brothers's 7th avenue south. Marc's reputation for his fast-melodic Jazz/Fusion approach on guitar opens many doors .Marc goes on tour with some Brazil Greats like Angela Suarez and Maria Rudio both in the US and in Europe.Very talented and accomplished singer songwriter Marc has sold his music all over the world. Both his albums ..Made in New York.. with Foreign Exchange and ..Brazilian Dance.. with jBf have been praised in Jazz Review Magazine in the US and in JazzUp in Europe. In May 2004 jBf's new release ..Brazil in New York..makes the front page of Jazz Review Magazine.Marc Levy is an ASCAP Songwriter Special Award Recipient for 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007Most noticeable work as a composer songwriter producer and singer: Never Ask Me Why (1987), Your love all Around (1987), I..m waiting for you (1988), Let me tell you how I feel (1988), the Highway of love (1988), Bahia(1995), Brazilian dance (2004), Brazil in New York(2004), So Sensitive(2004)Marc 's most recent work, the Live CD ..Brazil in New York... released in April 2004.jBf is currently performing in New York City
