According to ancient myth, a blackbird serves as messenger and guide between the worlds of dreams and waking thoughts, memories and secret spaces. At the gloaming hour, the blackbird's song is heard at the gateway between the realm of the living and the dead...enchanted music that lulls the conscious mind to sleep, and awakens the hidden self.
Within this liminal space, all stories are born, and new worlds are continually created. I am a storyteller, weaving tales of dark whimsy with paint, ink, wood, scraps of paper, and bits snipped from forgotten old books. I create with wood, rather than canvas, because it was once alive, and still holds onto memories of the forest. All the best fairy tales begin with a child gone wandering into the wildwood, encountering strange creatures and enchanted passages.
My compositions are sifted from dreams, (both the night and daytime sorts). And my creative process is akin to a shaman’s trace. I believe that every piece of art exists fully as a living spirit before the first line is ever laid down, and so I allow that spirit to guide my hand, moving through me, rather than attempting to control the outcome. There are no mistakes, only twists and bends that lead the story into places wholly unexpected.
I also believe that inspiration is passed between people like a stolen kiss, and is always moving and flowing like a current of air, or water, or electricity. It is my hope is to inspire others to be creative, and to listen to the low whispers of their dreams. I desire to “bring beauty back in season” and end the tyranny of literal thinking. Life is poetry. The world is whatever you imagine it to be...nightmare or delicate fantasy.
Art can hurt you if you let it.

My Interests

My legendary love Peter, the observation of things often overlooked, swinging deftly between decadence and simplicity, wild and hidden places, delicious vegan food, acupuncture, sipping cocktails prepared by good friends, hooping until I'm delirious, rough winds, the sea, dreams and nightmares, myths and folktales, beauty, things that inspire obsessive bouts of creativity, curios, acupuncture, treasure hunts, full moons, high tea, bromeliads, and exploring the ever expanding corridors of my own imagination.

Understand, I'll slip quietly
away from the noisy crowd
when I see the pale
stars rising, blooming, over the oaks.

I'll pursue solitary pathways
through the pale twilit meadows,
with only this one dream:
You come too.
— Rainer Maria Rilke (1875 – 1926)

“War is over...if you want it.” Peace is created within the heart, and freedom is realized in the imagination.

I'd like to meet:

Dreamers and their dreams...brooding romantics of all sorts.

The amazing Katrina Parker...the soundtrack of my art

This site has the most amazing jewelry for those, like myself, who love pirates and spiders and snakes. Beautiful.

And this site has the BEST candles ever...scents like poison apple and vlad are just too yummy.

The "Top Friends" list is crammed with people and places which inspire me...
