About Me

Greetings!

2006 marked L. Frank Baum's 150th Birthday!

L. Frank Baum was born May 15, 1856 in Chittenango, New York. When he was about forty he began to write children's books, the most famous being THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ. he also wrote many other Oz books, too, as well as boys and girls "adventure novels" and many other fairy tales.

L. Frank Baum married Maud Gage in 1882 and together they had four sons. Baum spent much time living in Chicago and then moved to Coronado Island in San Diego, and finally settled in Hollwood in 1910.

L. Frank Baum passed away on May 6, 1919 and was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetary in Los Angeles.

We at Hungry Tiger Press have also started a MySpace Group for lovers of Baum's writings and all things Oz! Come take a look!
