About Me

"FELIX SCHLARMANN GROUP": The Felix Schlarmann Group is a quartet of young jazz musicians from Amsterdam, who met each other during their studies at the Amsterdams Conservatory in early 2007. Every member of this international group puts his personal influences into the band and its music, which can be described as modern jazz with ‚energetic swing‘. The bands first program was the focus on Wayne Shorters music from 1964, the year of his first three blue note records. In the meantime there is own material played, written by the bandleader Felix Schlarmann and other members of the band. The Compositions combine different styles and influences of contemporary jazzmusic, getting their unique sound by the Felix Schlarmann Group. The recent program is based on own material, filled up with interpretations of the Shorter material and other selected compositions. The Felix Schlarmann Group worked in the Netherlands and other european countries and played several concerts, festivals and competitions.BIOGRAPHIE: Born in Lohne near Osnabrueck, Felix Schlarmann today lives in Amsterdam.
