A 3 piece band, 2 parts from Tameside .. In 2001, Singer and songwriter, Chris Cyprus formed the group ..The Weather.. with bassist Steven Hancock & later edition, Drummer Dan Hough joined in 2004, from Holmfirth.
The original idea for a name was ..The Weather Underground.. some American Political Activists from the 60..s, but later shortened to .'The Weather'.. (everybody talks about it!) 'The Weather' are currently finishing their third CD and will be out in July. They also start July with gig supporting Ocean Colour Scene and a load of other gigs coming soon! As a group, they have never 'chased rainbows' for want of a better word, or followed the current trends that a lot of 'industry' bands seems to be playing. Their ecclectic styles of music from country to blues to full on 'dirt' and quirky 'Pop' is their strength, record companies will hate them, but they dont give a shit about that. So if you get the chance to see them Live, then my advise is....Take it!
