Dallas City Limits / Basement Bands

How 'bout them Apples?

About Me

This page is going to concentrate on bands that ruled the club scene in Dallas, Texas during the late 1980's to mid 1990's. The two main venues/clubs to play at were "The Basement" (which has since been torn down and a "Walgreens" has gone up in its place) and "Dallas City Limits" (that was sold in 1995 and converted into a gentlemen's club known as "The Lodge"). "The Basement" was a medium sized club and catered to a slightly rougher crowd. Dallas Icon's "Pantera" shot some of their video footage from there and the club hosted a slew of national acts over the years. "Dallas City Limits" was a bit more refined and would hold somewhere in the neighborhood of 2500 people. "DCL" hosted a large number of National Acts as well and was recognized as being one of the better clubs to play and be seen at nationwide.
