No Respect

What do you do to get your blood pumpin?

About Me

No Respect was formed in the summer of 1992 by Jason Wheelington (Monroe), John Vaughan, Nick Holmes, and Doug Martin. This lineup was responsible for the first two No Respect studio sessions. Immediately, the band became favorites at "Dallas City Limits" and "The Basement"...scoring what would become a long list of opening slots with such national acts as Dangerous Toys, Pariah, Dirty Looks, Rhino Bucket, Trixter, Warrant, and Lillian Axe, to name a few. The band got "first dibbs" at MANY prime after show parties and special events and was heavily supported by regional radio including "Z-Rock".The band added guitarist Greg Shenk, becoming a 5 piece for a time. Greg brought in backing vocal firepower, stage presence, and an experienced, bluesy guitar style. Some of Gregs contributions became fan favorites "What's Your High?", "Let Yourself Go", and "Tell Me Why". After a short stint, Greg left (going on to form and front his own band) and "NR" returned to a 4 piece. 3 months later, the band added Dallas guitar-slinger John Inman. Inman's shred-style of play and vocal harmonies took the band to another level. Inman and Holmes shared lead duties and complimented one another in many ways.Founding drummer Doug Martin eventually left the band to persue a more diverse pallet of styles in early 1994, just after recording the CD "The American Dream". Todd Hughes entered the band to fill Doug's rather large shoes and promote the new CD. Bassist/co-founder/songwriter John Vaughan left the band in late 1994, to ultimately be replaced by Craig Cowsert (Carrerra). Jamie Scott ("Tyketto") filled the bass void for a period in between Vaughan's departure and Cowsert's arrival. It would be during this era of the band that songs "No Love Lost", "Union Of Souls", and "Desire" were written and performed live. To this day, these tunes have never been recorded in studio form. After the recording/release of the 'American Dream' CD, the band in fact never made it into a studio again before disbanding in early 1996.In 2001 a short lived relationship with an indie record label produced a re-mixed, re-mastered, re-packaged, re-release of "The American Dream" CD...now simply titled "No Respect"...with 5 bonus tracks originally not available on the original CD."Where are we now" ?!?!?See our individual profiles!!
